Team Access
Inviting team members to Marginly, controlling permissions, and managing who can see and edit your project data.
Overview
Team access is available on Starter plans and above. It allows you to invite collaborators to your Marginly workspace — project managers, architects, contractors, investors, accountants, or JV partners — and control exactly what each person can see and do.
Inviting a team member
- From any project, click "People" in the view switcher
- Click "Invite team member"
- Enter their email address and select their permission level
- They'll receive an email invitation with a link to create their account (if they don't have one) and join your project
Permission levels
There are three permission levels in Marginly:
- Admin: Full access to all features and data. Can invite and remove team members. Typically the project owner or a trusted project manager.
- Editor: Can view and edit all project data (deal appraisal, timeline, budget, documents). Cannot change team member permissions or billing.
- Viewer: Read-only access. Can see all project data but cannot make any changes. Suitable for lenders, investors, or contractors who need visibility without edit access.
Per-project access
Access is controlled at the project level — a team member you invite to one project does not automatically have access to your other projects. You need to invite them to each project separately.
Removing access
To remove a team member from a project, go to the People tab, click the three-dot menu next to their name, and select "Remove from project". They will immediately lose access.
Activity log
On Pro plans and above, the People tab shows an activity log for each project — a chronological record of who made what changes. Useful for accountability on team projects.
External sharing
In addition to team member invites, you can create shareable read-only links for individual reports (deal appraisal PDF, project progress summary). These links expire after 30 days and can be revoked at any time. Useful for sharing with a prospective lender or JV partner without giving them a full account.
